Dean Harman is the founder and CEO of Harman Wealth Management and partner and co-founder of Alphalytics Research, both located in The Woodlands, TX, near Houston. A recognized thought leader in the investing and financial advisory field, Dean established Harman Wealth Management in 1994, an independent wealth advisory firm that has grown through multiple acquisitions. In 2015, he co-founded Alphalytics Research, a leading authority in U.S. business cycle analytics.
Dean's insights have been featured in prominent national media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Newsweek, and The Financial Times. His expertise led him to testify before the U.S. Congress, where he advocated for high fiduciary standards in the financial services industry. He is also the author of "Win By Not Losing: Why Wall Street’s Conventional Wisdom Fails Investors-And How They Can Do Better."
Through his work with Harman Wealth Management and Alphalytics Research, Dean promotes an innovative, evidence-based approach to investment capital protection and growth, leveraging business cycle analytics. His leadership roles include serving as Chairman on the Board of Directors for the Financial Services Institute for eight years and Practice Intel. Dean also contributes to advisory boards for FINRA, The College of Business at Clemson University, and Osaic Wealth, the largest broker-dealer in the nation. Additionally, he is an active member of the Woodlands Economic Development Partnership.
Dean holds a degree in business management from Clemson University, where he also played football. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), a designation that reflects his commitment to high standards of competency and ethics in the financial advisory industry.
